Is auto enrolment a pension or a payroll issue?

By now, many of you will have received notification of what is called your “staging date” for Auto Enrolment. This is the date from which you must start to deduct pension contributions from your employees and pay over a contribution as the employer.

Although auto enrolment might seem at first glance a pension issue, in reality it is a huge change to payroll. Stubbs Parkin have been working hard to adapt to the new rules and have successfully implemented the new payroll procedures for our clients who have already auto-enrolled.

If you are a payroll client you will be contacted in plenty of time to make sure you meet all the requirements for staging and we will help you with setting yourself up with both the pension regulator and your chosen pension scheme. We can also assist you with reviewing the cost and impact and help you plan the changes effectively.

If you currently prepare your own payroll and wish to talk to us in advance of your staging date please give us a call or pop in and we can talk you through what’s needed and help you get set up. If you are worried about the changes and would to talk to us about taking over your payroll processing for you please get in touch with us and we can explain how it works and how much it will cost.

For more information please get in touch, or you can read more at the Pension Regulator.
